The Scottish Dairy Cattle Association was started in 1978 with representatives of all the major dairy breeds in Scotland plus representatives of all the milk recording interests.
The stated aims of the SDCA are to promote Scottish dairy livestock to home and export markets, improve animal welfare,
increase awareness, understanding and use of genetic indices and support the NFUS and DFOS in their quest for a fair price of milk ex farm.
